My first session in July 2017 was with the Karlin kids.. Mason and Avery. My first ever paying clients! I showed up lookin cuteee. I had my makeup done (despite the HOT July weather), cute outfit, I had my hair actually not in a messy bun. I was basically on top of the world. This family lives in the neighborhood, so I wanted to make such a good first impression that they’d have no choice but to tell everyone about me. Since it was so hot, I brought cold water bottles too. Yeah, I was extra from day 1.
So I pull up to our location, early of course, and get ready. Going over in my head all the posing cues I wanted to use, posing tips I learned, and camera settings. They showed up, we got all set up, and 30 minutes later, it was over. I had to take a minute sitting in my car in awe with pure excitement. Mason and Avery were silly, adorable, and the BEST first clients ever. Their mom even paid me a little more than the session was set at, so I was just ecstatic.
Well, almost a year had come and gone, and I hoped I’d see the Karlin kids again in 2018. Little did I know, they’d be coming this spring for a mini session! I did my happy dance because there’s nothing I love about this business more than repeat clients. This time we went to the gorgeous Eastborough park, and it was beautiful. It’s good to know Avery is still her sassy self and Mason will still crack a smile if I ask if he has a girlfriend. 🙂
From then to now, I’ve grown so much as a photographer, business owner, and person. My style has evolved from that way too hot July night when I took their first photos. I love their families loyalty to me, trust in me, and overall, they’re just the perfect family, and I’m so glad I met them and got to know them this past year. Enjoy! (Yes, I’m very late on posting this blog post. It’s a busy time this year!)
