July 7, 2018
I put out my applications for 2019 Senior Reps. and carefully reviewed all my applicants. I wanted 3 girls on my team this year because it’s my first year, and I’m just testing the waters with this new program. Out of all the 8-10 girls (yep, I broke the only 3 rule) I emailed back saying “congrats! you’re in!” only one single girl accepted my offer and became my first (and at the time, only) senior rep.
Did that discourage me? Not a bit. Because I knew that this girl was going to be the best senior rep. ever. Even if she was the only one.
I went to Hailey’s house to meet her and get to know her a bit better so I could help style her and find the perfect location. Her brothers were so funny, they called her about 3 minutes after I got there saying “Hailey! She’s been here half an hour waiting for you!” When she got home (literally 5 minutes after I got there) we laughed about it! Hailey told me all about where she works, what she likes to do, and her vibe of who she wants to be/is. From the moment we started talking, I knew she had a kind heart. She struck me as the type of person who’s loyal to her friends and family and just radiates happiness.
A few days later she showed me some outfit choices and I fell in LOVE with the black and white striped romper she had. I instantly knew I had just bought the perfect black hat at Wichita Vintage Market Days that would just pull the whole thing together. I also sprung the crazy idea of driving 40 minutes away to find a lavender field for her session. She was so down and it was a plan!
The day of, we went to the amazing Lanae’s salon/studio to get camera ready. Lanae is my go to makeup artist. She’s not only the most talented individual I’ve ever met, but I think I could talk to her all day and never get bored. I’m literally mesmerized when I watch her do makeup on my girls.
We drove out to Gertie’s Lavender Farm (link below!) and they were so kind to let us use the lavender for pictures. It was a dream house, with a pond, lavender, porch swings, and the cutest lavender table and chairs on the porch.
These pictures turned out so amazing, but little did I know, they’d lead me to two more senior reps. for my team this year! I’m so excited that Hailey is representing me this year, and I can’t wait for her full length session later on this year (it’s going to be even more epic, so get ready!)
